Another one of the many great features of the Nokia N82 is the ability to use the phone using a television as the monitor! What is even better is that it needs very little to be set up! Just the TV-Out lead (supplied in the box) and the device!

The 3.5mm headphone jack at the top of the N82 supports TV-Out. By using the TV-Out cable included in the retail box of the N82 (image above) you can connect up the device and use it’s full functionality through your TV. You can do absolutely everything including browsing the Internet and playing games while using the television as a large monitor. It is fantastic!
What would make the experience even better would be to have a bluetooth keyboard, for example the Nokia SU-8W to control the device, which unfortunately I didn’t have.
You can show your photos and videos that you have taken to your family and friends and you could easily take it to one of your mates houses and plug it in effortlessly!
A short video to show how you can use the N82 to show pictures and videos to people through a TV
I had the N82 connected to a 23″ high definition LCD television and the images and videos shown through the TV looked amazing. It made you really appreciate the quality of the camera that is packed into a relatively small device. I wasn’t sure how good the quality would be through a screen of that size from the N82 but I was really impressed!!!
Using the auto-rotation feature of the N82 and switching to landscape mode allows you to have a better viewing experience when connected to the TV.
When you watch videos/view photographs you have taken the N82 outputs them in VGA resolution which is what made the pictures and videos look great! I wish that this was the same using the rest of the functionality of the device…
When using other apps that you may have installed/browsing the web, they are outputted at QVGA resolution. The quality of the screen displayed on my 23″ LCD is legible but isn’t very good quality at all and is a bit fuzzy. This is a real shame and I hope VGA resolution can be used throughout the OS in future devices. Especially as televisions are getting bigger and bigger, that resolution is needed.
The N82 could easily be a replacement to a computer/notebook if you are away on holiday/business as it would do everything you could want it to, and with the simplicity of TV-Out, you could connect it to a television set in a hotel room as a monitor!!!
With mobile devices becoming more and more powerful, and with the output resolution improved, the possibilities of using your multimedia computer with a compatible bluetooth keyboard are endless. You would have one device that you could carry around with you that could not only be a fantastic mobile phone and satellite navigation unit, but a true portable computer.

All these posts on the N82 is making me so excited for mine to get here.
Have you decided to order yours?!
Ya, it should be here this time next week I hope. I am so stoked. You helped push me over the edge on it. I almost stayed with Sprint to get the new BlackBerry Curve.
I hope to have this phone soon. I just pray that God will provide the money for me because I knew it’ll be very expensive
